@Octavia because if people want to watch shows about what's happening in the world they can watch the news. Scripted entertainment is a distraction from all that. I'm all for people using their voice but not at the expense of entertainment. Its not the 0platform

It's possible for anyone, regardless of ethnicity, to be a victim of racial injustice. They sure love pushing this political agenda, don't they? Also, where are their masks? 😉

@Kieverdam A group can refer to any classification of people or objects, so yes, black people are a group. First it was they don’t get mainstream media attention now the argument has completely changed to they don’t dwell on it long enough for your liking? They “dwell” on it until the case goes to trial and a verdict is reached, imbecile. Dead black victims of police brutality literally cease being a topic of conversation when the judge decides whether or not to sentence the cop and you don’t hear their name(s) again until a similar case happens. Lastly, please do some research on systemic racism, because you sound idiotic. The claim that there’s no right minorities are not afforded is a complete and utter joke. Simply possessing legal rights is totally undermined when a system works against you and/or prevents you from using them. There was literally a nation-wide conversation about voter suppression just last week. Dear God, get off the internet and go outside. Watch the news. Pick up a book.

@KuroiNeko Well, black people are a demographic, not a group, and "community" can mean more than one thing. Again, if it's on mainstream media, it's SHORT-TERM, they don't dwell on it for weeks/months/years. LOL you hate majority demographics, don't you? No, it really doesn't, not anymore. There is no right that a white person has that a minority doesn't have in America today. Have you not been paying attention to all of the pandering to black people in media, entertainment, politics, education, etc and how they demonize white people? Have you not seen the recent curriculum in schools that teach white students, including children, that they're racist because of past wrongs that they had NOTHING to do with? So no, it's NOT "just a few" white people being discriminated against. I could also list all of the white people murdered by black people, racially motivated or not, but since it's way too long, I won't bother. Yep, nice talk indeed. Good luck in life.

    • KuroiNeko

@Kieverdam You need a definition for community? Did we not just discuss context clues? Obviously we’re referring to race? “Mainstream” as in the news, buddy? Police brutality against non-blacks gets news coverage. Again, expand your life outside of social media. “White people day” is literally every single day in this country. That example is nothing more than a perfect example of throwing nonsensical tantrums about being excluded. As though being a part of a group that faces systemic racism is some cool club membership that comes with health benefits. American society literally caters towards Caucasians. Which is why being taught about historical contributions made by white Americans is a given in school while history about contributions made by people of color is taught as an elective. A handful of cases of a few white people being discriminated against is not comparable to entire minority groups fighting to change antiquated systems and mindsets that were put in place decades ago by people who desired to oppress them and still impacts modern day society. So no. White Americans at large do not face racial injustice. Nice talk though.

    • Kieverdam

      Kieverdam

@KuroiNeko Define "community". Do you mean demographic or neighborhood/city? Police brutality only gets MAINSTREAM/LONG-LASTING media attention/outrage when it's against black people. Were there any massive protests in the streets for Ryan Whitaker, Tony Timpa (who was treated worse than George Floyd), Daniel Shaver, James King, Kelly Thomas, etc, all of whom were unjustly harmed/killed by cops who were acquitted? Racist cops do exist, but in most cases where a cop who HAPPENS to be white harms/kills someone who HAPPENS to be black, it's either because the cop was overstepping their authority, or the suspect was resisting arrest - race is irrelevant (again, in MOST cases). Funny how you didn't mention the Democratic Party, which is where most systemic racism comes from. Yes, all-white TV shows existed (and some still do since most Americans are still white), but guess what? There's this thing called PROGRESS. Now (as of the 1970s, so DECADES ago), black characters and all-black TV shows/movies are everywhere. Yes, many white Americans DO face racial injustice - YOU have no exposure outside of social media, which is left-leaning. Look up Johnny Michael Allen, Christopher Williams (Pennsylvania), and the Wuestenbergs - and those are just victims whose perps all walked free. There are also the incidents where white UC Berkeley students were blocked from class, Evergreen College having "no white people day", college professors calling for the death of all white people, etc. And all of those occurrences are justified because of the past, even though almost no white people today had any involvement and that we've moved forward as a society? You support fighting racism with MORE racism then. Sad. And I have no "entitlement complex".

    • KuroiNeko

      KuroiNeko

      24 giorni fa

@Kieverdam Also, there have been all white casts on TV for decades and nobody whoever makes the idiotic argument you’re trying to make has ever batted an eyelash about them not featuring a single minority character or opening dialogue on other cultural/race issues. White Americans in the United States do not face “racial injustice”. You face an entitlement complex, that results in tantrums (much like yours) being thrown whenever you are excluded from anything, despite the fact that minorities in this country have been lacking representation in basically every industry for ages and y’all never cared.

@M R BLM is a social movement that existed prior to getting attention on social media, exists largely outside of social media and was created in response to clear flaws in the US law enforcement system...flaws which have been studied and discussed in the field Sociology for decades. Just because you live in a bubble and don’t care about issues that don’t affect you doesn’t mean that any of this shit just popped up a few years ago.
